KENSAL Mercedes-Benz Vito Van Fit Out
Designing a Sortimo storage solution to meet the needs of a florist.
Liv Wakem from Kensal Flowers was the lucky winner of a competition Mercedes-Benz Vans New Zealand ran at the online Fieldays event. As well as winning the Vito for a year, a Sortimo storage solution was included in the prize.

We consulted with Liv to understand the storage requirements of her business and using our Sortimo 3D configurator tool we were able supply a full vehicle specific concept to her for approval.

The system we created for Liv included our Flex Rack shelves on both sides of the van which have the ability to fold away when maximum carrying capacity is required and then fold down when shelves are needed. We customised them to only have one shelf to ensure Liv had the clearance she required for her delicate cargo. The pro safe restraint system on the uprights of Flex Rack shelves means all her cargo can be safely strapped in place during transit. The 2 series Simpleco rack at the front houses removable and stackable cases for consumables, this can be transformed into a mobile onsite workstation with work top by using the L-Boxx trolley.

After taking delivery of the van, Jason built up the Flex Racks and 2 series Simpleco system. Each module was test fitted and mounting points were marked on the floor and walls. The floor was then removed, mounting points installed and the floor was re-stalled. Each module was fastened to the mounting points and to the walls using custom brackets.

Hand over to our clients is something we always look forward to. Jason delivered the new van to Liv at Kensal Flowers in Kingsland and took her through her new Sortimo system demonstrating the functionality of the Flex Rack shelves and mobile storage she now has in the Simpleco van rack. As added extras Jason also installed LED lighting to make sure Liv has maximum visibility on her early morning runs to the flower markets and an air vent to make sure her flowers arrive in the best possible condition.
Liv was thrilled with the final result and so were we.
